Arriving in Bathurst late afternoon early night, and finding out that i got f**ked over with accommodation and I ended up having to buy myself a big family room to my self, and on top of that finding out that I burnt out my brake pads. My day wasnt the best, but all in all i was happy that i found a place to stay and i just chilled and relaxed knowing this will be one of the only night i will get a good sleep.
Day 2 - Friday
Woke up in my deluxe ass room and feeling good life, went to Woolies to get some fresh fruit and some black labels orange juice to start the day on a high. After this I started to proceed up to the hill to register for the comp, as I finish registering I headed down to the pits where the ramps were located and meet up with the Envy guys and Sacrifice guys, then the MGP guys arrives shorty after. We continue to chill and rode the Newtons ramps, we all left to get lunch and meet at Bathurst skate park a bit later on we rode there till late. We all headed up to our hotels/cabins to chill and hang out. Jeremy Merrin was the entertainment for the night for sure. Jezza funny.
Day 3 - Saturday
Saturday was a chilled day cause the qualifying was not till later in the day, but we manage to entertain ourselves till then.3 o'clock and every one started to jam and then we all had runs, two of us on the course at one time we had 3 minutes to impress the judges. my skills weren't as sharp as i would have liked them to be on the day, but oh well congratulations to the guys that qualified.
After the runs we all headed up to our rooms to wait till Seth Sentry got on stage. It was a terrible walk from our room to the top of the hill. As we arrived Seth was on stage turning down some heavy rhymes to some heckler in the crowd. After Seth was over we all hung around for a bit longer then we all started to walk home. It was fair to say that walk home was rough to every one, mostly to Jeremy getting lost and Robbie Menzies taking a fall in and over a barb wire fence. then getting back to find the official after party was just up the road Taylor, Wazzeh, Aaron and Myself took advantage and rubbed shoulder's with a few big names such as Seth Sentry and The Getaway Plan.
Day 4 - Sunday
Sunday was pretty slow for everyone i think, lagging to get up and out of bed to be down at the Pits for the final of the competition. After some delay with some judges and other technical difficulties with were all up and going and the comp was away. Everyone had there own runs that went for 2 mins, Everyone threw down hard. Shout out to R-Willie for 720ing the box backwards, was truly insane. After the comp was over we all headed up the hill to watch the Dirt BMX Pro. after seeing some hard crash and falls, and some insane tricks being thrown down, Brandon Loupos comes out with a near perfect runs and taking out first place beating some big names in the BMX world. Well done Brandon.
After watching the dirt, we all headed back to the motel and grabbed our scooters and went hill bombing down the Mt. Panorama and getting some gnar clips we headed back to the motel to get ready for dinner. We all headed to the RSL for dinner and a slap on the pokies. James Carter and I were both up at least 30 dollar then loosing it all haha, stupid machines. after dinner we all headed back to the motel and chilled then ended up drawing all over my car. we all got in to our rooms and pretty much fell asleep.
Day 5 - Monday
Waking up around 8 and then heading to breakfast with the Envy crew was nice and then leaving Bathurst for the four hour journey home
alone was very daunting, but to my surprise the drive home went very smoothly.
Want to give a big shout out to Flavor (Dean) for making this trip possible, another to
Jeremy ''JEZZA'' Merrin for giving m a place to stay and giving me entertainment for most of the time and the Envy Team, MGP team and the Sacrifice team, and to Dialled for covering the event on the media side of things.
Newton nation for throwing a good show and a reasonable event.
